During November 2024, Mr. Vugar Isryil Oghlu Gurbanov was appointed by Mr. Ilham Heydar Oghlu Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to serve as the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, California, with expanded duty to 13 western US states.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the Hon. Consul General Vugar Gurbanov was the guest speaker at the Sephardic Tiferet Israel Temple in Los Angeles, California.

In his speech Mr. Gurbanov emphasized the three-decades-long deep-rooted and respect-based cordial relations between Azerbaijan and the Jewish people, living in and outside Azerbaijan, and the state of Israel.
